Nebelung - Nebelung Cat - Nebelung Kitten

Nebelung cat bred is considered to be a semi-long haired cousin of the Russian Blue cat breed.
History
Nebelung is a German word that means - creatures of the mist. In the early 1980s in America, a black domestic cat gave birth to two short haired females and one long haired male. The father was an Angora mix. One of the short haired female kittens produced a litter of kittens that included a blue semi-long haired male kitten. This kitten became the Nebelung's foundation cat.

Appearance
Barring difference between coat length, Nebelung is more or less similar to Russian Blue in Appearance. Whereas the Russian Blue's coat is short and dense, the Nebelung's fur is medium-long, silky, and possesses a dense undercoat. The bright blue color is contrasted with silver-tipped guard hairs and therefore the coat catches the light, giving it a luminous, misty quality. Nebelung has an angular, modified wedge-shaped head consisting of seven flat planes. Their eyes are generally green colored. Kittens may have yellow eyes that deepen to green as the cats mature.

Personality
Nebelungs are mild, soft-spoken, and gentle. They are generally reserved around strangers, but make excellent, loving and playful companions to their owners. They are extremely intelligent but their behavior is highly predictable.
