The Siberian is one of the largest breeds of domestic cat.
History
There is no authentic account of how the Siberian cat breed reached Siberia but it is widely believed that the breed arrived with Russian emigrants. It adapted itself to the hash and cold weather conditions of Siberia by developing into a hardy, longhaired breed. Thereafter the breed spread throughout Europe. Siberian cat is quite rare in America.
Appearance
The Siberian is a large and strong cat. They are extremely agile and great leapers. They are very muscular and powerful. They have a thick triple coat with a full ruff that gets thicker in the winter months. Their forehead is slightly curved and cheeks are not very pronounced. Siberians have large, round eyes and they come in all colors except pointed colors.
Personality
Siberians are affectionate and playful cats. They tend not to be shy with strangers. Siberians are very intelligent and loyal. They have a fascination with water.
